Mike Halko joined Digney York Associates (DYA) in 2022 as an Assistant Project Manager, bringing a wealth of experience from the commercial HVAC and plumbing sectors. In his role at DYA, Mike is instrumental in managing projects from pre-construction through to close-out, working diligently with clients, design teams, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution. His dedication to clear and effective communication among all stakeholders is a key component of his approach, reflecting his belief that collaboration is essential to the success of any project.
Mike’s career began after he graduated from Shippensburg University with a degree in finance. Although his initial career path led him to finance in his hometown of Bethlehem, PA, his desire for a more dynamic and hands-on field led him to transition into the construction industry. This change brought him to Vienna, VA, where he embarked on a new chapter as a project engineer specializing in commercial HVAC and plumbing.
During his tenure in Vienna, Mikel contributed to several high-profile projects, including the ION Center Ice Rink, the Kennedy Center Renovation, and the University of Florida Dormitory Expansion. His involvement in these complex and large-scale projects allowed him to develop a deep understanding of the intricacies involved in construction and renovation, preparing him well for the hospitality sector.
Mike is deeply committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and health on job sites. He holds both OSHA 30 certification and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) licensing, underscoring his commitment to ensuring a safe working environment for all team members. His proactive approach and extensive background make him a valuable asset to the Digney York team, where he continues to tackle the unique challenges of hospitality projects with enthusiasm and expertise.
