Bringing a Decade of Hospitality Expertise to Digney York Associates’ Purchasing Team
Meredith King joined Digney York Associates in the summer of 2022 as a key member of the Purchasing team, bringing a wealth of experience and a passion for the hospitality industry. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Hospitality and Tourism Management from the College of Charleston in South Carolina, where she first discovered her enthusiasm for the field.
Before joining Digney York, Meredith accumulated a decade of experience as a Catering and Event Manager, working at a diverse array of properties across the United States. Her career includes stints at boutique resorts in California and five-star hotels in Washington, D.C., where she managed over 500 events. This extensive experience honed her skills in managing complex logistics and delivering exceptional service, which she now brings to her role in purchasing.
In her current position, Meredith collaborates closely with project management teams and vendors to ensure that material pricing, ordering, accounting, and scheduling are meticulously handled. Her background in hospitality has provided her with a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of client needs, which are invaluable in managing the intricate demands of construction projects.
Outside of work, Meredith is a self-proclaimed chef who enjoys experimenting with new dishes and exploring different wines. She is also an avid tennis player, a food enthusiast who loves discovering new restaurants, and a devoted pet owner to her two rescue dogs. Additionally, she cherishes time spent at her family’s beach home.
